Stitches and Sisters

Well, our first day home as a family of four was very eventful. Poor Cameron fell and hit his head on our stone fireplace Friday night. Thankfully my mom and sister were still at our house and they were able to stay with Olivia while Charles and I took Cameron to the pediatric emergency center where he got 3 stitches. It was so SCARY for us but Cameron was so brave and was right back to his normal self, even while waiting in the emergency room with a big gash on his forehead! We are so thankful that he wasn't hurt worse.
Cameron has been really great with Olivia! He is so sweet and loving to her, it's so cute to watch! He's always patting her on the forehead and wants her to do a lot of the stuff he does.

Cameron pulled up a little chair so he could sit next to Olivia :)

Welcome Olivia Kathleen!

Sorry that I took so long to post the first photos of Olivia, our internet was down for a couple of days and we just got it fixed today.
Olivia Kathleen Simpson was born Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 AM. She was 8 pounds, 10 ounces and 21 inches long. She has blonde hair (surprisingly quite a bit of hair) and blue eyes and long fingers and toes :) She is absolutely perfect and we are all so in love with her!!!

Halloween Pictures

Cameron was Curious George and Charles was the Man in the Yellow Hat for Halloween. I was surprised that Cameron did really good keeping his hat part of his costume on while he was trick or treating.

Getting ready to go. (I stayed home and handed out candy at the house.)

Projects

Our house has been a happening place the last few weeks! Our yard has been taken over by work crews and they've made really good progress in a short amount of time! So far, here's a list of the projects that we are working on:

1- (no picture) We had a HUGE oak tree taken out from the front of our house and one smaller one in the back. Both we both half dead and we were worried about the oak in the front dropping a large branch on our house or the neighbors. Charles also worked hard to trim back a lot of our palm trees so with that and the missing tree it has really opened up our front yard and view of our house from the street. It looks really nice!

2- We put an awning above our balcony
3- We added concrete pavers to our back porch. Before the pavers there was just a concrete slab with cracks. What a huge difference it made and it looks great!!

4- The one big project that we've been meaning to do since we moved in was to flatten out our sloped backyard and add a concrete wall to help with the drainage. Our backyard is so much bigger now and looks really nice. We are really excited about seeing it all finished. They started the project about 2 weeks ago and are moving right along. Right now we are almost ready for the new sod to go in :)
This is after they leveled out the yard

Cameron loves to dig in the dirt in the backyard. It's like one big sandbox!
The completed wall. Just waiting for 2 more loads of sand to even out the yard.

5- And the last, but CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, project was decorating Olivia's bedroom. It seemed to take forever as the room went up piece by piece but we are so happy with the end result! Can't wait for her arrival!!
I saw this bookcase in a catalog and Charles said that he could make it. I think it turned out better than the one in the catalog. Love it!!!!

My sister picked out all the wall decor

My good friend, Tara, made the bumper and crib skirt. She did an awesome job!

We ordered the "Olivia" wall decor and then my sister made the green board and put it together.

Maternity Photos

A couple of weeks ago my good friend, Debbie, came to our house to take some maternity pictures of the three of us. It's really hard to get all 3 of us looking at the camera but I thought we got quite a few good photos. (You may notice that Cameron's hair is shorter. He got a haircut just a few days before and they cut it shorter than it's been before. He looks so much more grown up!)
Love this photo!!

Fall Festivities

Although the weather has still been in the upper 80s here, we've been trying to get into the "fall" spirit by going to a couple of different pumpkin patches and farms.

These first few photos are when we took Cameron to our local pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin. Unfortunately, thanks to our hot weather, after carving our pumpkin it only lasted a week and we were back the following week to pick out another one.

(Sorry that he's not looking at the camera in the other photos.
I get tired of trying to make him look!)

These photos are of us at a local farm that has various activities throughout the month of October. Along with a corn maze and pumpkins they have a hay ride, lots of activities for kids and great spots for photos. Cameron had a nice time even though later that afternoon he came down with a 24 hour bug, with his fever hitting almost 104! Luckily he was fine after the 24 hours.

During the hay ride they took us through a cow pasture and gave us treats to give to the cows. Cameron loved it!
